This is a re-release of the 1983 model of the Honda CR450R. It depicts
the 1981 variant of the CR450R which Honda released to compete in 500cc
class motocross races. The single cylinder 431cc air-cooled 2-stroke
engine at the time had the highest output on offer among Honda
production motocross models at 51.5hp, plus a semi-double cradle frame
using Honda’s unique Pro-Link rear suspension. With a dry weight of just
104kg, the lightweight CR450R was used by many 500cc motocross racers
across the world. Later, the 1983 variant received a 472cc engine and
evolved into the CR480R.
